Executive authority for the Student Government Association is vested in the Student Body President, who is responsible for forming and implementing the budget, appointing a cabinet, establishing organizational goals, implementing policy, and supervising staff. The Student Body President also serves as the Student Regent, along with the other ten members of the Board of Regents vested by the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky with the governance of Eastern Kentucky University.

Executive Cabinet & Senior Staff

The Executive Cabinet consists of the Student Body President, Executive Vice President, Vice President for Student Activities, Vice President for Residence Life, the Chief of Staff, the Treasurer, and the Executive Cabinet Secretary. The Chief of Staff serves as the executive assistant to the Student Body President and his closest advisor, assisting him in the management of the Student Government Association and the accomplishment of the presidential agenda. The Chief of Staff also supervises the Executive Cabinet and the Senior Staff, ensuring that their areas of special responsibilities are met. Working closely with SGA’s full-time Office Associate, the Chief of Staff is also responsible for the daily operations of the office. The Chief of Staff is assisted in supervising the Senior Staff by the Deputy Chief of Staff. The Executive Cabinet serves in an advisory capacity to the Student Body President, and meets weekly to approve or deny legislation produced by the branches of the Student Government Association. In certain instances detailed by the Constitution, the Executive Cabinet also serves as a hearing body for violations of organizational policy. 2008-2009 Executive Cabinet
