The Ethics Administrator is SGA's internal watchdog. Elected independently from all other positions by the outgoing membership of the previous year, the Ethics Administrator is charged with ensuring the integrity of the public trust placed in the members of our organization.
The Ethics Administrator investigates allegations of wrongdoing, refers certain matters to the Student Court for adjudication, and monitors the financial activity of the branches. The Ethics Administrator also receives complaints from the University community if they relate to procedural or conduct violations regarding SGA members. To a certain extent, the Ethics Administrator is very similar to an Attorney General and Inspector General rolled into one.
Though the Ethics Administrator is an autonomous office within SGA that serves as a check and balance on other offices, the Ethics Administrator works closely with the Student Court and other officers, as appropriate, to ensure that each member of SGA is conducting themselves as a good stewards of the public trust. If you believe a member of SGA has committed an ethical violation, contact the Ethics Administrator.
